The PistonHeads Sunday Service is rapidly becoming a site tradition. Although the ‘Sunday Service’ name has only been in existence for five years, the ethos of the meet started 10 years ago when a few members used to meet in a car park on a Sunday morning, to talk cars and drink tea.
Today, the Sunday Service is much bigger and we host events held at locations such as car manufacturer headquarters and race circuits rather than public car parks. Despite the more glamorous locations, the basic ingredients of parking your car, buying a coffee and looking at cars hasn’t changed at all and the manufacturers are able to see PistonHeads come to life on their doorstep.
Attendance is set at a minimum of 300 cars, with some venues being able to accept 900 cars. This means we greet thousands of people at these events every month and they are now a firm fixture on our readers’ calendar.

‘Black Tie and Pie’ is an annual charity dinner for 200 paying guests who are predominantly active members of the forum. Taking place over a weekend in a UK country hotel, the main aim is to have fun while raising money for our regular charity, Cancer Research.
Pie is served as the main course – a longstanding PistonHeads tradition – and guests wear black tie while eating. Hence ‘Black Tie and Pie’. BTaP is a much-anticipated PH institution that continues to grow in popularity.
Hotels are chosen for impact, location and easy access to great driving roads. Special parking areas are reserved for PH members, allowing an impromptu motor show to form over the weekend.
The BTaP has a DJ, a charity raffle, charity auction, speeches and awards. Tickets go on sale at an allocated date and time – and are usually sold out in hours. BTaP is the centrepiece of the PH events calendar, and raises thousands of pounds for charity.
